Captain Fred Lynch, "Freddy," is a full time fly fishing guide specializing in shallow water flats fly fishing. His fishing area covers north and south Laguna Madre, as well as the Port Aransas area. With 20 years of fishing experience on the central Texas coast, Freddy has developed a sixth sense for finding the fish and is a pioneer of gulf coast fly fishing.

When Freddy is not poling clients to fish he is busy promoting fly fishing in area shows and teaching fly tying at the local fly shop. He is active in teaching fly casting and fishing techniques throughout south and central Texas. Freddy has developed several excellent patterns for redfish and "specs" and is always busy working on that next pattern.

Freddy loves to use the STS 906/3 on days when the wind is not blowing too hard (under 20 knots.) "The lighter action of the STS 906/3 is great for presenting small flies to reds in the "skinny water" found in the Laguna Madre. When the wind is blowing (75% of the time) the STS or SES 908/3 is the best rod, bar none, for getting the fly to the fish." Freddy has also been known to venture into the blue water when the late summer conditions present the opportunity. For these forays he prefers the HP 8810/3.
