Ed Koch is a pioneer trout angler of Northeastern waters. Since 1962, he has invented patterns and perfected techniques for the difficult dry fly waters of the East. He has written several important books on this subject, including "Fishing the Midge" and "Terrestrial Fishing," and has co-authored or contributed to four other fly tying manuals.
Koch was a charter member of Trout Unlimited, and an instructor for the first Orvis fly fishing school in Allenberry, PA. He has worked as a fly fishing guide for over 40 years, and holds the Pennsylvania state record for largest brown trout on a dry fly, a 27 ½", 9 ¼ lb monster taken on a Letort Cricket.
Ed will be found doing his fly tying and occasional casting demonstrations at virtually every show in the Northeast. Check the Scott events calendar on this site for his schedule.
