Joe Kresl is a world class trout fishing guide and casting instructor. He lives and works on the fabulous San Juan River in northern New Mexico, and delivers the absolute top level of service and skill in his profession. No one knows the Juan better than Joe. He has guided these fabled waters for over ten years, and shows his clients a different experience every time they fish together. Joe caters each trip to his clients' needs and preferences. He often works from his drift boat, but prefers to wade fish and access the quiet, mysterious backwaters of this complex river.

Joe Kresl is one of the best fly rod casters in the United States and has taught hundreds, if not thousands, of people to cast while guiding on the San Juan. To describe his casting in words would be to underestimate his talent as we know of no casting instructor with such ability and grace. When you fish with Joe, you must ask him for a casting lesson. Joe is too humble to impose this on his clients, but what he teaches you in ten minutes will stay with you for life.

When he is not fishing the San Juan, Joe is dreaming about fishing in New Zealand. Also, Joe runs cross-country and road races as a member of the Reebok pro staff. He logs several miles every day before or after fishing, and records national class times in competition.
