Mark Sedotti is a pioneer in Northeast saltwater fly fishing. He was born and raised in Port Chester, NY, 26 miles north of New York City on Long Island Sound. Here he developed the flies and casting techniques to fish the rich local waters for striped bass, bluefish, bonito, false albacore and other gamefish of the Northeast coastline. Naturally, Mark expanded into freshwater fishing over the years, and has vast experience fishing for trout, Pike, and even Makinaw with a fly rod.

Mark applies his skill and experience to writing and instruction. He is the casting columnist for Saltwater Flyfishing magazine and his articles have appeared in countless other fly fishing periodicals. Mark is also the notorious inventor of a series of "bunker flies," some of which exceed 12 inches in length, which he uses for bluefish and stripers. Mark delivers fabulous casting, fishing, and fly tying seminars at a host of trade shows and clubs each year, and is also involved in social research and education. He has taught at the State University of New York at Purchase, and currently teaches at the New School for Social Research in New York City. Also, Mark works in his community to introduce young people to fly fishing by teaching them to cast and tie flies.

Mark's favorite rod is the STS 9010/3, and he uses this rod exclusively for throwing his enormous "Sedotti's Slammer" bunker flies. The combination of rod, line, and casting skill allows Mark to cast these awkward flies over 100 feet, an amazing feat on dry land and tremendous asset on the water.

Mark is our head casting instructor in the Northeast. Check this site for his schedule of clinics and events.
