Captain Fletcher White guides the flats from Key West in the winter and spring, and the fabulous South Fork of the Snake River in the summer and fall. He has earned a reputation as a gentleman and teacher, as well as one of the best fly rod casters in the land.

Fletcher has become one of the top tarpon and permit guides in Key West. His remarkable knowledge of the western Keys backcountry makes him extremely versatile on the water. It's very typical to cast to fish all day long with Fletcher, with plenty of bonefish and permit shots thrown in during tarpon season. In the early spring, Fletcher specializes in the elusive permit, and last March his clients landed over a dozen permit on the fly. Fletcher's skiff is armed with six Scott fly rods of different line weights, rigged and ready with floating and sinking lines, and several fly choices for the various species that may be encountered.

During the warm months of the year, Idaho's famous South Fork of the Snake River is an angler's dream. Some say the South Fork is best dry fly river in the world, but who knows for sure? The PMD hatches and hopper fishing during July, August and September are enough to cause Fletcher to leave Key West, though.

Fletcher guides most of his summer clients from a driftboat, fishing the banks with terrestrials and stopping to wade gravel bars during intense hatches. Wildlife and wild fish are in abundance here: the South Fork sports a mind boggling population of magnificent Snake River cutthroat in the 15-20 inch class, plus a healthy population of large rainbows. The rich South Fork valley is also home to a great number of moose, river otters, and birds of prey.
