New for 2000
Possibly our finest all-around dry fly rod. SES 854/3 throws hoppers effortlessly, and casts razor-thin loops with leaders of any length. This rod responds quickly enough to work banks from a drift boat, but is forgiving enough to fish pocket water on foot. SES 854/3 is also a great bugger rod for small and medium sized streams.

| SES 854/3: Incredible. If I could only pick one rod with which to fish medium to large waters, this would be it. The action of this rod is perfect for my more or less relaxed style of casting. Amazing power, but extreme delicacy allow me to fish everything from large hoppers to tiny dries with no problems whatsoever. I have also fished weighted nymphs and streamers on this rod with no difficulty. I was initially a bit skeptical of the claims made by some of the Pro Staff for this rod, but the first time I cast it I ordered one on the spot. SES 854/3 is a truly multipurpose rod which is, in my opinion, one of the best in the entire Scott arsenal. Amazing accuracy, incredible tracking and power with no loss of delicacy, and beauty of fit and finish make this rod one of my favorites. Scott will really have to come up with something unique to replace this one in my arsenal. | ![]() |
