This rod is the foundation of many saltwater fly rod collections. SES 909/3 covers all light saltwater fishing applications, and is simply one of the finest casting fly rods in the world. This rod has all the reserve power of STS 909/3, but is a little more forgiving and easy to cast.

| SES 909/3: The SES 909/3 is a great redfish and snook rod when conditions mandate the use of heavier, bulkier flies. In places like the "Toad Hole," where large numbers of redfish frequently congregate during low tides, we often fish a fairly large woolhead mullet imitation. In areas like this it's imperative to get the fly out away from the skiff, and the SES 909/3 will do that with a minimal amount of effort. | ![]() |
