This is our lightest and easiest casting 10-weight. We specifically recommend this rod for permit fishing, where accuracy is most important, but the HP 8810/3 is also particularly good for throwing wind resistant flies such as saltwater poppers. This rod is four inches shorter than the STS 9010/3 or SES 9010/3, and offers superb casting accuracy and lifting power. If you use a 10-weight for shore casting for striped bass, choose the STS 9010/3 or SES 9010/3, but for boat fishing, we recommend the HP 8810/3. This is also a great rod for catching King salmon in either rivers or estuaries.
