G 883/3

This mythical Scott fly rod lives on as one of the finest dry fly rods ever designed. The G 883/3 is a highly capable light nymphing rod, but sets an untouchable standard for delicate dry fly presentations. This rod is especially useful for casting small and medium sized dry flies on long leaders, but is versatile enough to fish any trout stream. The G 883/3 is a medium-slow action rod that excels in slack line casting, loop control, roll casting, and precise line mends. On many occasions, the G 883/3 has been declared the finest light line fly rod in the world.

G 883/3, G 884/3, G 885/3: The G 883/3, G 884/3 and G 885/3 go everywhere with me. These mid-length rods respond magnificently to roll casting, which I personally do quite a bit. The 8' 8" length offers good accuracy like shorter rods and is also more than adequate for longer-than-you-should casts. I find these rods to have a surprising amount of horsepower when needed. I've landed some incredible fish on all of these rods and would recommend that everyone try them at some point.
