ARC STEELHEAD & SALMON RODS

The ARC Series is designed for catching salmon and steelhead in large rivers. ARCs are longer and more moderate in action than saltwater rods of the same line weights, providing the line mending and drift steering ability required to present your fly on the other side of a broad, swift river.

  High Performance Features
1) Medium-fast progressive actions cast both floating and sinking lines accurately at great distance. Casting ease is critical, because steelhead and salmon anglers make hundreds of casts each day.
2) ARCs are all over nine feet in length because roll casting and line mending are more important here than in any other type of fishing. Extra length also helps steer the fly down and across after mending the line.
3) Forgiving rod tips help set the hook consistently on tightline downstream drifts.
4) Extra rod length and strong midsections help lift the line and set the hook solidly on upstream takes.
5) Powerful butt sections with ARC reinforcements control thrashing fish in heavy water.

ARCs are designed with two fishing purposes in mind: get your fly to the fish, and get the fish to the beach. Taimen are like steelhead in that the fly (often a mouse pattern) is presented down and across to the fish. The size and ferocity of the species make Taimen the ultimate test for the ARC Series. Taimen in Mongolia's Copper River frequently exceed 80 pounds and jump like tarpon.

Advanced Reinforced Carbon (ARC) is a special layup that combines custom graphite materials for maximum durability and power. These high modulus materials give the rod a terrific light feel, and provide more durability than in any previous generation of steelhead and salmon rods. Using the ARC materials, we've created a rod that feels like a super-charged G. ARCs have surpeb casting accuracy and tracking stability, but are longer and more powerful than our other freshwater fly rods.
