SAS 1007 is an excellent steelhead and salmon rod for local anglers. This rod offers plenty of reach for line mending and roll casting, but has enough backbone to cast large flies with either floating or sinking lines. This is a particularly useful rod for Great Lakes anglers who use both downstream swing and high stick nymphing techniques.
