This is a heavy duty steelhead and salmon rod for local anglers in the Great Lakes region and Pacific Northwest. SAS 1009 has lots of power for casting the heaviest flies on both floating and sinking lines, and enough length to roll cast great distances. SAS 1009 feels amazingly lightweight, so the angler does not tire from making 1,000 casts and mending line aggressively in large rivers. SAS 1009 is also an excellent shore fishing rod for Northeast striped bass anglers.
