STS 1006
STS 1006 is a superb float tube rod for fishing larger streamers and nymphs, and offers unmatched line mending and roll casting ability on the stream. For these reasons, STS 1006 is recommended for all broad water fishing applications. We put a 5/8" fighting butt on this rod, too, so it's comfortable for playing larger fish such as summer steelhead. In fact, if you're looking for a six-weight steelhead rod, this is the best one around. STS 1006 has become particularly popular in the state of Oregon, where summer steelhead up to ten pounds may be caught on dry flies on several major rivers, including the Deschutes, Grand Ronde, Rogue, and North Umpqua.
