STS 9010/3

This is our most popular striped bass rod because of its ability to throw large, bulky flies long distances over the surf. STS 9010/3 is also a perfect permit rod, and is plenty powerful for catching tarpon up to 100 lbs. In deeper water, STS 9010/3 is well suited for catching dolphin, small tuna, and false albacore. This is also an excellent King salmon rod.

STS 9010/3: I've been asked many times what the best all around rod is for the Florida Bay, Florida Keys, and the Everglades, an area prowled by big snook, redfish, bonefish, permit, and tarpon. The STS 9010/3 can handle it all. My customers have landed many tarpon over 100 lbs in less than 15 minutes on this rod. It's great for casting heavily weighted Merkin crabs to cruising permit, but still light enough to fish for bonefish on a windy day.

STS 9010/3: I use this incredible distance tool for much of my fishing in the Northeast. It's by far the best rod I've ever seen for casting giant flies, easily casting them extremely long distances. You can imagine how well it casts smaller ones. Unlike other "heavyweights," it feels light, is very accurate, and most surprisingly, casts lightly too. It's simply one of the best fly rods I've EVER cast (and I've cast my share) and I wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the best rods ever designed.
