TACTICAL SERIES SALTWATER
STS 906/3
This is a light, quick saltwater rod that is extremely popular for fishing inter tidal areas and waterways where the wind is not as much of a problem as on open water. STS 906/3 is a fantastic sea trout and snook rod for the Gulf Coast, Indian River, and Everglades, and has also gained popularity in the Northeast for striped bass estuaries. STS 906/3 is also an excellent redfish rod on a calm flat, because it lays the fly down very gently over spooky fish. This is a really fun rod to use when you're throwing smaller flies. Large, wind resistant flies require the weight of a heavier fly line, but this rod won't have a problem landing large fish.

| STS 906/3: If you want to fish light for bonefish, redfish, snook, and baby tarpon, this is the rod. I would describe it: sweet and powerful. I use it with flies up to a #2 or so. It will make an accurate 50 foot cast, or shoot the whole line. I took a 30 pound tarpon with it in Key West which was the most fun tarpon of the year! In Alaska, this is my standard rod for silvers, chums and sockeyes. | ![]() |

| STS 906/3: This rod can do it all. Last summer I landed a 14 lbs. Jack Crevalle on a size 4 popper and was able to put plenty of pressure on the fish. You can cast short distances accurately or air it out long if needed. When the wind is down, my clients enjoy battling redfish on such lightweight tackle. It has an amazing balance of power and finesse that seems to give it the capabilities of a bigger rod. I think it's the best 6-weight on the market! | ![]() |

| STS 906/3: The STS 906/3 has become the backbone of my inshore winter and spring fishing. I rig this rod with a 3M Bass Bug taper line and use it for shoreline snook fishing and shallow water trout and redfishing. I typically fish deceiver style flies and "hot lips" poppers, and find it to be the easiest casting rod in my arsenal. I guide a few anglers who are not good on their feet and must fish from a sitting position. This is their favorite rod. The STS 906/3 is also a very accurate casting fly rod, and with the heavy head on the Bass Bug taper it loads quickly and provides for minimal false casting. | ![]() |
