TACTICAL SERIES SALTWATER
STS 909/3
Possibly the best rod in the Tactical Series, and fast becoming the most popular all around saltwater rod in the world. Most anglers prefer fast action rods in the salt, and this one is a boomer. For pure castability, this is the best saltwater rod we've ever designed. You can nail this rod into a heavy wind with a strong double haul without causing a tailing loop, and the rod will handle even the largest bonefish and redfish flies. STS 909/3 is probably our best all-around striper rod, and is also perfect for bluefish. When you visit the Florida Keys, walk around the Lorelei dock area and count STS 909/3's. This is the standard light saltwater rod in the most demanding saltwater fishery in the world.

| STS 909/3: While most of my permit fishing used to be done with my #10 rods, these days, unless I am using a very heavily weighted crab fly, my rod of choice is the STS 909/3. It feels like an eight weight, yet it is able to make "real" 90 foot casts "on the water," and has the back bone to fight big fish. This is the rod to make long casts without much power. My biggest fish with this rod so far is a 100 pound shark on the flats. No problem, until I had to take the hook out. | ![]() |

| STS 909/3: When the wind blows, this is the rod to throw. Pure power emanates from it as you cast, and once the fish is on, the battle is definitely in your favor due to the exceptional smoothness throughout rod. If I had to choose only two rods for the flats, they would be the STS 909/3 and STS 906/3. | ![]() |

| STS 909/3: The STS 909/3 is my personal favorite. Whether I'm fishing for small tarpon, bonefish, or permit, this is the perfect rod. It is light, powerful, and casts like a rifle. If it's versatility that you are looking for, this is the best rod there is. | ![]() |

| STS 909/3: I use the STS 909/3 in the springtime when the bigger snook move into the Sebastian area. I put a bass bug taper on it to cast large poppers and deceiver style flies. The STS 909/3 can really punch a fly into the wind and throw very tight loops. It's an incredibly responsive, powerful rod, one that the "hot shots" just love. | ![]() |

| STS 909/3: I think the STS 909/3 is the ultimate " BIG BASS ROD" available on the market today. The amazing strength and castability of this rod is perfect. If a bass is hooked in the tightest timber or grass bed, I never question the rod's ability to get the fish out of danger. When I want the hook setting power to bury a 3/0 or 5/0 hook, it's right there in the butt section. Casting the very large flies I use does not detract from distance or accuracy. This rod cannot be improved for my liking. | ![]() |
