Captain Tim Klein is one of the most revered guides in Florida. He has lived on Islamorada for his entire life and knows these fabled flats as well as any living angler. Klein takes pride in teaching his clients about the complex Keys ecosystem and has been deeply involved in conservation efforts throughout his career. His gentle character and sincere interest make every fishing day an enjoyable and compelling experience for his clients.
Klein has the uncanny ability to be the right place at the right time. This is no accident, of course. Tim believes strongly in staying on the pole in order to cover water and find fish. His understanding of tide cycles, willingness to pole all day, and unmatched knowledge of the middle Keys make Tim one the most successful of all saltwater fly fishing captains.
Captain Klein is a veteran of the Florida Keys tournament circuit. Since 1991, he has guided anglers to the largest bonefish, redfish, permit, and tarpon in Redbone and S.L.A.M. events, and has guided three all around tournament champions. Recently, Tim guided angler Julia Hilton to the women's twelve pound tippet world record bonefish (12 lbs., 6 oz, HP 888/3). Klein is also a regular instructor at the Florida Keys Outfitters Fly Fishing School.
