Captain Poole fishes the famous Indian River Lagoon system on Florida's East Coast. The estuary includes the Indian River, Banana River and Mosquito Lagoon. These bodies of water average about three feet deep, and are home to a tremendous diversity of species including redfish, spotted sea trout, snook, tarpon, ladyfish, and jack crevalle. Greg thrives on sightfishing, whether its for tailing redfish in quiet backwaters or cruising tripletail in the open ocean.

Greg uses a variety of fly rods in his fishing. Under severe weather conditions, he prefers the STS Saltwater Series for delivering flies quickly and accurately. When the lagoon lays down, he breaks out the Heliplys for delicate, smooth presentations. Greg always carries the right rods for the occasion, and outfits his clients with top quality equipment for their fishing.

Captain Poole is deeply involved in the Florida fishing community. When he is not guiding, he ties flies for local fly shops, including the Fly Fisherman in Titusville and Orlando. He is also a member of the Florida Conservation Association and the Federation of Fly Fishers, and participates in the FFF Southeastern Conclave every year. Greg also teaches fly tying and gives presentations to a full circuit of local fishing clubs.
